With 10 inches of snow on the ground and temperatures dipping below zero at night, it sure feels as though Christmas is just around the corner but in reality it is still Autumn and Thanksgiving is next week. Each year it is seems as though we are in a bigger rush to get to Christmas and Thanksgiving is almost forgotten about. With the early arrival of snow and cold temperatures you do almost forget what month of the year it is…I’m even guilty of wanting to get out the Christmas decorations and put the fall décor away early this year but don’t worry I won’t. So, as I refuse to forget about my favorite holiday of the year and the traditions we love to celebrate as a family and give thanks for all that we are blessed with – I too will embrace the cold and snow and think positively to get me through the next 5 months of what we call winter here in Minnesota!
At Forest Lake Floral we are in full holiday swing – but we too won’t forget about Thanksgiving and are still sending bountiful autumn arrangement out the door and taking orders for beautiful Turkey Day centerpieces. We love sending expressions of thanks to loved ones near and far during this season of giving. Although the designers inside the store are still busy arranging with daisies, mums and bittersweet – out in the greenhouse we are busy making holiday wreaths and winter spruce top containers and serving hot apple cider. I guess it a clash of two wonderful holidays in one place! As I have mentioned in pervious posts – we are a 1 stop shop for all! Speaking of a 1 stop shop – Forest Lake Floral and Blossoms Gift shop are hosting their annual “Girls Night Out” on Thursday November 20th. It’s a night to spend with friends sampling gourmet foods and wine all while checking out our holiday items, outdoor décor and sneaking in a little Christmas shopping too – not to mention, drawing an ornament out of Frosty’s hat to save 20, 30, 40 or even 50% off your total purchase!! We ask if you are willing and able to donate an unused toy for “Toys for Tots”.
So, go ahead and embrace the season of your liking and have a little fun while you are at it!!
